Prepping for your Rental Kit -

• You must have a power source to plug-in the Incubator then the Heater (warming plate) for baby chicks. While in use, they need to be plugged in 24/7.

• Incubator and Brooder must be placed in a safe location, away from direct sunlight or drafts.

• You must take proper steps to prevent small children and/or pets from disturbing or knocking over the Incubator or Brooder!

• The ideal ambient room temperature is between 67-85 degrees Fahrenheit. If the room is too hot/cold, additional measures will need to be taken to ensure success (ie. wrap unit with towel, etc).

• The hatching eggs need to sit undisturbed for 12-24 hours before going into the incubator. Use this time to setup the incubator, get familiar with the step-by-step instructions and look through the curriculum.

• You can call/text (209) 897-0248 with any questions or concerns. ZimZer Ranch also provides continuous support throughout the rental period!

When Will Eggs Hatch -

Quail: Approximately 17-19 days after pickup date.

Chicken: Approximately 20-22 days after pickup date.

Chick/Rooster Return -

You have the choice to keep the birds or return them to our ranch at the end of your rental.

ZimZer Ranch will take back any chicks free of charge!

You can also return Roosters to ZimZer Ranch anytime if you decide they’re not right for you! Whether they’re too loud, aggressive or you just no longer enjoy their company - you’re never obligated to keep Roosters if they came from one of our Hatching Rental Kits with our eggs!

Fire Safety is Important to Us -

All rental kits come with one of the safest heaters on the market! At only 15-watts, these heaters (warming plates) are much safer than the traditional 250-watt heat lamps that pose a significant fire risk. The chick safe heaters that we use were specifically designed to go inside the brooder with the baby chicks. The birds press their bodies against the warming plate or sit underneath it to stay warm. We also include no-roost cones that stop the chicks from climbing on top of the unit which helps keep it clean from debris.

Re-Scheduling and Cancellation -

Re-Scheduling 15+ days prior to pick-up date: Your payment, including booking fee will be transferred to the new date. Your request must be emailed to ZimZerRanch@gmail.com

The new pick-up date must be scheduled within 48-hours of sending in your request, otherwise it will be processed as a cancellation.

Cancellations 15+ days prior to pick-up date: Will be refunded, minus booking fee. Request must be emailed to ZimZerRanch@gmail.com.

No-Refunds for cancellations or re-scheduling within 14-days of the pick-up date [Exception: if someone else comes forward and rents the kit for your scheduled timeframe].

Non-Refundable booking fee of $100 is included in the total balance due
